Mexican Cinema and Tourism
It is well known that Mexico has a great beauty both natural and cultural that has been reflected in several national and international films. Today, August 15, Mexico recognizes and celebrates the contribution of our cinema to Mexican culture and ideology. But you will wonder what relationship does Cinema have with Tourism?, because I will tell you that thanks to the filming of several films we have been able to know places, traditions, customs, people and fauna that we would never believe exist in our country; proof of this we have “María Candelaria” which was filmed in Xochimilco and showed us the beauty of the canals that you can still travel; “Macario” who showed us the beauty of the Cacahuamilpa Caves in the State of Guerrero; “El Profe” was filmed in the Magical Town of Tequisquiapan, Qro.; “Nosotros Los Nobles” allowed us to know how commerce develops in La Central de Abastos in Mexico City and how minibus operators coexist at the capital’s bus stops; “Change of Route” where they show us the beauties of the Riviera Maya; And so we could go on and the list of movies wouldn’t end. Cinema is able to inspire and motivate to live experiences that we never imagined we could do before, as well as to know places full of beauty; for that reason we join the initiative of the Secretary of Culture to recognize the importance of cinema in our country. So we invite you to enjoy Mexican cinema and appreciate the beauty of our country, not only the places, but also its people.
Remember: “Our way of seeing the world in Mexico is different from the others. Our relationship with chance and the instinct we have to maneuver is profoundly unique. Our plasticity and ability to face an aesthetic challenge is very much ours and that is a gigantic advantage” Guillermo Del Toro
